Apologies to finger berth holders

The Committee wishes to express apologies to finger berth holders for the current state of the pontoons. Despite a recent deep clean of the pontoons, it would appear that some mindless individuals ran amok over the weekend (probably Good Friday) jumping off the fingers and running through Members’ boats, and in doing so spread a considerable amount of mud everywhere. We would expect those responsible to come forward to apologise and make efforts to clean up their mess.

This behaviour is totally unacceptable and enquiries are in motion to identify the culprits. Furthermore the Committee has the option of utilising Rule 13 in such circumstances. Should anyone have information regarding this issue please inform the office and likewise if anyone has suffered damage to their boat.

Members, and especially parents, are reminded that children (a child is anyone under 18 years of age) are not allowed on the pontoons unless accompanied by an adult and that children must be wearing a lifejacket/buoyancy aid. The Club does not have many rules but this issue is important for health & safety, insurance conditions, and the protection of Members’ vessels. It is the responsibility of parents to properly supervise their children whilst on Club premises. Members also have a responsibility to police  these rules – remember this is your Club.
