There was a south westerly breeze for the final race in the Spring Pursuit Series, and course 7 was set, allowing the yachts to venture out no further than Nare Point. Another running start saw the boats head off for the Dennis Mark.
Beejolly and Valkyrie were racing in the PY class, and Zoom Baby again led the way in the IRC class, pursued by General Khaos, Jacobi, and Orijin. Sailing out to the Nare mark with spinnakers Orijin managed to pass Jacobi, but Jacobi soon got back in front, rounding the mark third, behind Zoom Baby and General Khaos. Orijin passed General Khaos on the spinnaker leg from Committee to the Shag mark, when General Khaos got into a patch of very light wind. Jacobi hugged the South shore on the long beat upriver to the Voose mark, gaining a tremendous advantage over Zoom Baby and Orijin which followed a course nearer to the middle of the river. This move proved decisive, and allowed Jacobi to round the Voose mark first, going on to win the race, with Zoom Baby second and Orijin third. However, the Spring Pursuit series was won by Zoom Baby, with Jacobi second, Orijin third and General Khaos fourth.
