Blue Eye

Saturday 22nd February

Setting out from Portland Harbour, UK, in August 2016, two young lads sailed their 32ft yacht over 30,000 miles around the world. Travelling via the Panama canal and Suez canal, they arrived back in Portland in August 2019.

Blue Eye, a Nicholson 32 Mark X, built in 1973, was originally owned by the Royal Navy and based in Falmouth and Mylor. Examples of this design are currently to be found in the Helford River.

James Haggett and Tom Diamond will be recounting their adventure for us, with an illustrated talk and as a taster you can read about their experiences in the Red Sea in the January 2020 Edition of Yachting Monthly. This Saturday Evening Talk is for all ages. For those who dream about doing such a trip but it is too late, for those who are in the planning stage and for those who just enjoy adventure stories!

Food and drink will be served from 6pm and last food orders by 6.45 pm to ensure an 8pm start to the talk. Table bookings in advance please.
