COMMODORE’S REPORT

With Easter firmly in sight and the prospect of some better weather I look forward to seeing you all very soon either on the water or in the Club. The development of the clubhouse has progressed well during the winter months and should be finished in time for the Easter weekend. The new balcony will be a very welcome addition providing a large open air seating area where you can enjoy the magnificent views whilst partaking of a drink and a bite to eat. With the increased seating area it is more important than ever to book your table if eating as this will also help Tom with provisioning and preparation. This year we are going to be even more strict regarding the parking of cars in the car park. All Members’ cars must display a valid HRSC 2013 sticker and be parked in an authorised bay, and any offenders will have a sticker placed on their windscreen asking that the car be removed. It is also requested that if you intend to go away on your boat for a period greater than one week, you make alternative arrangements to leave your car elsewhere. New for this year is the provision of parking for your trailer in the upper dinghy park – details are available from Club office. There have been two new additions to the 707 fleet bringing the number to 13, which should add to the fun on Wednesday evenings. This should also provide plenty of opportunities for people wishing to crew, so if you fancy a go please add your name to the list on the notice board. An excellent social programme has been planned for your enjoyment over the next couple of months (details on the Social Calendar later on in this Newsletter) so please come along and enjoy a pleasant evening in good company – the more the merrier.
