Commodore’s Report Winter 2015
COMMODORE’S REPORT
We have just had a summer in which we have had either too much wind or not enough or just plain bad weather. This has meant that probably, like myself, you have found it less pleasurable to go sailing and have therefore been out less often. Hopefully the sailing season next year will be blessed with better weather.
Despite this, dinghy racing has again been very successful this year with good and competitive racing which bodes well for next season. Thank you to all the safety boat crews for providing cover for the dinghies.
The yacht racing on Wednesday evenings has been great fun with closely contested races and was enjoyed by all who took part We need more keelboats racing as the fleet is getting smaller so please consider joining in with Wednesday racing next year.
Our stewards Chris and Janet have not had the best of summers with fewer visitors and unfavourable weather which has resulted in less business for the Club. Chris and Janet will be leaving the Club on 30th November. I would like to thank them for all they have done for us over the past year and to wish them the best for the future.
As always the Club website is updated on a regular basis so please keep an eye on it for all news of what is happening at the Club.
Lastly I would like to thank everyone who has worked hard in helping with any Club activity and keeping everything running successfully. Without your help this Club would not be able to function.
I wish everyone a happy Christmas and all the best for a prosperous New Year.
