First Aid Course

Do you wish to obtain (or renew) your First Aid certificate ready for the new season?

Remember that if you are a Safety Boat Driver or Sailing Instructor, you must have a current 1st Aid certificate and keep in mind that certificates expire after 3 years.

The club is organising 2 courses, both to be run on Saturday 2nd April 2016 in the clubhouse:

  1.  A full one-day course for those with no previous RYA First Aid qualification and those whose 3 year certificate has now expired. Cost £36.00 *. 0930 hrs – 1600 hrs (half an hour for lunch break).
  2.  A 3-hour refresher course for those whose certificate is still current (but may be about to expire). Cost £31.00 *. 1000 hrs – 1500 hrs

The courses will only run if we have sufficient numbers (minimum of 8 per course).

If the above courses are over-subscribed, we will run more courses, so if you wish to attend an RYA 1st Aid course, but cannot make the above date, please do let us know and we’ll notify you if and when further course dates are on offer.

The cost of these courses is extremely reasonable, so do take advantage of this offer while it’s available!

To reserve a place on a course please email Ginny Sykes by Sunday 13th March, giving us your name and contact details (email and telephone) and telling us which course you wish to apply for. Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis so book in early.

Please make cheques for the appropriate amount payable to HRSC and send to: Helford River Sailing Club, Helford, Helston, TR12 6LB or pay by BACS to: Helford River Sailing Club. Sort Code: 30-94-07. Account No: 00090120. Please put your name and ‘1st Aid’ as reference.

Payment must be received by Sunday 20th March or your place may be allocated to someone else.

* First Aid books will be available to purchase on the day at a cost of £2 each.

There is no minimum age limit for course participants, so young people who are keen and wish to gain a 1st aid qualification are most welcome to attend.
