Club Dinghies

During these unusual times, the Committee are keen to enable you to use club dinghies at HRSC.  The RYA have advised us to proceed with caution, so as a first step we have decided to make club dinghies available to the Adult Sailing Group.

The available dinghies are:

  • WAYFARER RED SNAPPER
  • WAYFARER No. 3
  • WAYFARER No. 4
  • FUSION No. 1
  • FUSION No. 2
  • PICO

We have set up two WhatsApp groups.

  1. HRSC Adult Sailing Group, where members can chat.
  2. HRSC Bookings Only, where members can book out club dinghies.

The Wayfarers are available to all those who have been previously signed off in the Wayfarer Book. Please note the Wayfarer Booking Book is no longer available in the clubhouse.

The Fusions and Pico are available to those who have been signed off for single-handed dinghy sailing. If you would like to be signed off please contact Angie Watson: moc.kooltuonull@1nostaweigna

To join the HRSC Adult Sailing WhatsApp Groups please text Adult Sailing Member Bob Calver on 07500507569

When booking out a session:

  1. Start the WhatsApp message with the boat name IN CAPITALS.
  2. Add the date you want the boat.
  3. Your name

If you book out more than one dinghy please state the names of the other helms.

Example:

Wayfarer Information

Red Snapper’s sails are in the Sailing Shed on the bottom shelf in two separate bags, one grey one red.

No 4 sails are on the bottom shelf in two separate bags, one grey one blue.

No 3 sails are in the black sail bag labelled No 3.

The masthead floats are stored in the cupboard to the left as you enter the shed.

Please use your own tender if possible. Studio Sam, the Wayfarer tender, is moored on the pontoon.  The oars marked HRSC are stored in the Sailing Shed. Please use the wipes and sanitiser in the tender to clean the surfaces and oars before use.

If you don’t have a shed key email Angie Watson for the combination of the shed key-safe: moc.kooltuonull@1nostaweigna

Fusion and Pico Information

The Fusions and Pico are in the Dinghy Park.  The booms and rudders are stored in the dinghies.  The mast and sails are stored on the sail rack in the Dinghy Park.  There are 10m tow ropes on the fore decks in case needed.  Paddles are provided in case the wind drops.

Duncan Skingley has very kindly posted this video showing how to rig one of our new Fusions:
