Regatta Day
A big thank you to everyone who helped make yesterday’s Regatta Day such a success.
To everyone who made food contributions for the teas, the barbecue helpers and the washer uppers, the bar staff, the liberty boat crews and everyone else who gave up their time to help out.
Many thanks again –
We couldn’t have done it without you!
REGATTA TEA | Please could we have a raise of hands for your generous platter donations?
Dear Members,
It’s that time of year where Falmouth Sailing Week is nearly upon on us. As a Club we are always very proud to host the Falmouth Week Regatta Tea on the first day. It has always been a great occasion on our social calendar, with wrap around entertainment and evening food being planned as usual. Members old and new, please join in on Sunday 6th August from 3pm.
As is usual, we’d like to rally the troops to help bring our famous HRSC tea for the sailors together. Please could we have a raise of hands for your generous platter donations? Sandwiches, sausage rolls, quiches, tartlets, cakes, brownies and any picnic-style delights are most welcome.
Please let our Captain of Social, Diana Best, know on [email protected] or 07557342805 what you will be delivering to us on the day so we can make sure we have a diverse spread for all tastes. If you are able to volunteer on the day to help with plating up and clearing away please also talk to Diana.
Food donations can be dropped off as usual from 11am on Sunday 6th August at the Club and someone will be here to gladly receive them.
Many, many thanks in advance, your generosity really makes the wheels go round on this fabulous event.
Best wishes,
Vanessa Glossop
Vice Commodore’s Wife and Captain of Juniors.

HRSC Talks Series: LIZ FENWICK
Wednesday 19th October at 8pm
KITCHEN & BAR will be OPEN so please treat yourself! 😊 🍝 🥂 An easy, bar-snack menu will be served 6-9pm.
Join us at HRSC to meet Liz Fenwick, author of many award-winning contemporary Cornish novels. Hear her take on the importance of research in her novels, and the part real human experiences play in shaping her stories.
Liz says, “The talk will be about the role research plays in my writing and the importance of people’s personal stories. Those divisible tales and snippets give a book a touch of honesty and reality. Do you have a story that might work in one of my books? If so please come along and share it with me. It could end up in the narrative of my next book!” Now, that’s an exciting prospect!
For all Liz Fenwick fans, avid readers and lovers of our Cornish shores and way of life, this talk is not to be missed!
